When a high school senior makes a last minute decision to study to become an MD instead of the safe lawyer she always thought she would be, it takes her on a roller coaster journey that can only make sense in the company of her strong willed mother, her high school sweetheart boyfriend and her new and lifelong friends that try to keep happy but far from sane.

Storyline
Selena Rodriguez (Gabrielle Union) is now a college senior reflecting on the past three years of her life, and more importantly those that lie ahead. Upon entering college she was terrified of the changes, of growing up, separating from her high school friends and boyfriend Max Berrios (Justin Timberlake). But as it turned out college life was amazing bringing new challenges and new people. And with time she realized that it would take a lot more than different campuses to separate her from the important people in her life; meeting up for summer getaways and winter ice skating kept the closely knit group of friends together and in touch. Finally when it's that time again, to be a senior, to fill out applications and make life changing decisions, she once more depends on the people who helped her in a time that seemed so long ago. Relying on the never ending strength and guidance of her mother Maria Rivera (Melissa McCarthy), the advice of her friends and most of all her own wishes, desires and dreams Selena sets off to a new world that promises to be even scarier but exciting as the one she's living in.
